About the site
Fin & Stem is an informational reference site for the planted freshwater aquarium. Content is provided as-is for hobbyist use.
Accuracy
We work hard to be accurate. Care numbers (temperature, pH, hardness, tank size, group size) are based on the sources we cite and our own experience. They are working ranges, not guarantees. Use judgement, observe your tank, and consult a vet for anything medical.
Trademarks & brands
Manufacturer and product names referenced on the site (Tropica, ADA, Chihiros, Twinstar, Eheim, Oase, Fluval, etc.) are the trademarks of their respective owners and used here only to identify the products being discussed.
Open data & licensing
Some data and imagery is drawn from open sources, FishBase, GBIF, Wikidata, Wikimedia Commons, and used under their respective licenses (typically CC0, CC-BY, CC-BY-SA). Attribution is rendered alongside each image. Original photography, writing, and the database structure itself are © Fin & Stem.
User-generated content
Comments, submitted photos, and similar user-generated features are not currently enabled. If they launch in future, content guidelines will be published here first.
